| Caring Hands, Inc.was founded
in April, 1995 originally as an agancy to provide in-home
nursing care to elderly people. |
| In November, 1997, wishing
to diversify, we expanded our health focus by establishing
the www.restrooms.org (Restrooms of the Future) web site
for restroom-related market research. Our initial funding
was provided by a grant from a European restroom fixture
manufacturer. |
| In 1998, after learning
many females desired the same “urinary freedom” as males,
we invented and began manufacturing the TravelMate— the
first commercially-available non-invasive female urinary
device designed to fit between the labia majora. |
| Encouraged by the success
of the TravelMate, in 1999 we sought suggestions and feedback
from our customers on what we could do to imake the device
even better. |
| We took most of those suggestions
to heart, and in September, 2000 began manufacturing and
marketing the second-generation TravelMate shown on your
left through this web site. |
| We discontinued our in-home
nursing services and began focusing all of our efforts on
the TravelMate and TravelMate-related products in November,
2000. |
| In June, 2001 we were honored
to receive the "Medical
Design Excellence Award" (MDEA) in the "self-help" category
for this annual event. The MDEA competition is the premier
awards program for the medical technology community, recognizing
the many people behind the scenes, the engineers, scientists,
and designers, who are responsible for the groundbreaking
innovations that are changing the face of healthcare. |
